About Us

R. Kenner French is the president and founder of Vast Solutions Group, Inc. Kenner's unique experience in finance, marketing and customer service helps small-business owners and individuals grow their assets and retire with the lifestyles they desire.

Prior to founding Vast, Kenner was a regional vice president at ING , where he worked with more than 200 small-business owners to help them grow their businesses and assets in both bull and bear markets. Kenner's experience also includes managing client services at several international consulting firms.

Kenner has spoken at small-business and retirement seminars across the country and contributes to numerous radio shows. He is a business and financial contributor for The Palm Beach Times and also has appeared in USA Today, The Beverly Hills Courier and the Greenwich (CT) Post. He is currently working on a book on financial strategies for small-business owners and those preparing for or in retirement.

Kenner attended Olympic College, Washington State University and Harvard University and sits on various corporate boards. A resident of Bainbridge Island, Kenner has been married to his college sweetheart for more than 15 years, and they have two sons.

Kristin French is Vast's chief financial officer. She has an insurance license in a number of states, including Washington and Oregon, and holds a securities license in Washington. She has more than 15 years of experience in consulting and benefits analysis with companies including Mercer Consulting, Aon Consulting, Amazon.com and RealNetworks. When she is not watching over the company's finances, she is busy running after her two sons.

Heather Loveday has been with Vast Solutions Group, Inc. since 2008. She was recently promoted to general manager and now handles plan administration, client coordination and office management. She loves working closely with clients and ensuring that Vast's customer service is second to none.

Heather was born and raised in Indianapolis and attended Indiana University. She has obtained her Washington-state real-estate license and will soon earn her insurance license. She enjoys the challenging work within this industry and is always striving to learn more. Heather enjoys playing with her son, going to the park and listening to music and always loves a good joke. She also spends time reading and cooking.

Christie Conley is the services specialist at Vast Solutions Group, Inc. Since joining Vast, Christie has enjoyed planning business events and working on our publication, The Manifesto Series. She graduated from Western Washington University, and hopes to bring some of her creative edge to Vast. Christie enjoys getting to know each of our clients and learning how we can help them with our customized services. In her free time, she loves to paint and eat ice cream of all flavors.

Andrea Banyas, Vast's communications director, has more than 15 years of experience in online and offline advertising, marketing and communications. She has created and executed marketing and communications plans for companies as diverse as PanAmSat, a satellite-services provider, and Riggs Bank. She also spent several years as an account executive for two Manhattan advertising agencies and has a bachelor's degree from the University of Vermont and master's from the Missouri School of Journalism. Andrea spends her spare time going on walks with her two boys and eating chocolate.

Daniel Perrine is a consulting actuary for Vast. With more than 30 years of experience in benefit plan design and administration, Dan offers a wealth of insight with hands-on experience. Before Vast, Dan worked with an east-coast-based firm, American Economic Planning Group, Inc., and ran his own successful actuarial consulting firm for 16 years. He also has worked as a consultant for a major New York actuarial firm and as vice president and part-owner of a mid-sized New Jersey actuarial consultancy. Dan is a fellow of the Society of Actuaries, a fellow of the Conference of Consulting Actuaries, a member of the American Academy of Actuaries, a member of the American Society of Pension Professionals & Actuaries, and an Enrolled Actuary (EA). Dan graduated from Rutgers College in New Brunswick as a member of Pi Mu Epsilon, the national honorary mathematics fraternity. He lives with his wife and two children in New Jersey.

Valerie Carey is an investment consultant for Vast Solutions Group, Inc. and has worked in the financial-services industry for 10 years. She served as a vice president at NY Life Securities and was a registered representative at ING Financial Partners. She also held a number of positions at New-York based restaurant.com and owned her own company. She holds a number of licenses, including the securities-industry series 6 and 63 and an insurance license in Washington.

Gail McConnell is an investment consultant for Vast Solutions Group, Inc. and is a veteran of the financial services industry. She specializes in retirement income planning for those clients preparing for retirement or in retirement. In addition to her work as an investment consultant, she is vice president of a Tacoma-based tax-preparation firm where she helps prepare highly technical tax returns. Gail is a life-long resident of Washington and holds a Washington state insurance license.

Gary Koontz has been in the financial-services industry for more than 40 years and consults with Vast on selected insurance matters. Gary has been a member of NAIFA, the National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors, MDRT, the Million Dollar Round Table, Sunset Financial Services, Circle of Achievement and Sunset Life Insurance Company`s Captain`s Table. Gary has been married for 47 years and has five children and four grandchildren.
